BESCHREIBUNG & EINTEILUNG

The beautifully restored farmhouse has five spacious bedrooms - four double and one twin-bedded - and three bathrooms upstairs (one ensuite). All of the bedrooms have ceiling-mounted remote-controlled fans/lights installed and ample wardrobe space.

Downstairs, the large, well-equipped kitchen leads into a very large living room and then into the converted stable cum utility room in which there is a further toilet, a shower/changing room and a washing machine.

The house is approached down a long, private drive and is not overlooked. A large, heated freshwater swimming pool sits in the pretty, fenced garden below the house. It has a big paved surround, a covered sitting/eating area and a summer kitchen with a brand new barbecue for poolside food preparation. Swimming towels are provided.

UMGEBUNG & AKTIVITÄTEN

Marmiflet is set in over one hundred acres of private woodland and pasture. Cut through with grassy paths, the property is managed entirely environmentally which makes it a haven for insects, butterflies, birds and other wild life. It is an important site for wild orchids (around 25 different types flowering mostly in Spring) and is a glorious mass of wildflower colour throughout Summer.

The whole area is steeped in history with many interesting towns, abbeys, Cathar ruins to visit and it also has may interesting geological sites.

Many outdoors pursuits include cycling (bikes can be hired), fishing, golf (Carcassonne), horse riding, white water rafting, sailing, windsurfing, rock climbing and go-karting. Escorted mountain walks (daily or with night hostels) can be arranged, but require a measure of fitness! There are an amazing variety of excursions and activities on offer; brochures can be found in our housebook.

Bird watching is very rewarding with an interesting variety of birds of prey and other Mediterranean visitors such as the bee eater, swifts and golden orioles. Red squirrels scamper through the trees and butterflies fly in clouds over the garden's wild flowers.

Possibilities for painting are limitless, from grand landscapes to beautiful meadows and woodland flowers.

Domaine de Marmiflet is available from Saturday, May 8th, until Saturday, September 25th. For any other periods please contact the owner. Everything is included in the price - all bed-linen and bath/swimming towels are provided and changed weekly. There are no charges for electricity or water usage.

There IS a refundable damages deposit of 250 Euro.
