BESCHREIBUNG & EINTEILUNG

Think of a typical French farmhouse with beamed ceilings, inglenook fireplace and stone walls, and you have Fournou. Set in 6 acres of tranquil woodland and sunflower fields, the farmhouse has 3 bedrooms all of which are beautifully decorated, and 2 bathrooms, a large kitchen/dining/living area plus a laundry room. Outside, a large terrace with tables, chairs and parasols provides the ideal spot for dining 'al fresco'. Steps lead from here to the swimming pool area which is protected by a laser alarm. Sunloungers, tables and parasols are all provided for your enjoyment plus a paddling pool for the little ones. The barbecue pergola with further terrace has far reaching views over surrounding countryside and you can choose from a gas or charcoal barbecue. Stairgates, cots and cot linen, high chairs and booster seats are available on request.

UMGEBUNG & AKTIVITÄTEN

Situated on the top of a hill with views over surrounding countryside and sunflower fields, Fournou is ideal for those who like walking or cycling or just lying in the sun with no neighbours to disturb the peace. For the historically minded and those who like French architecture, many picturesque villages and towns, including many Bastide villages, are within easy reach including St Cirq La Popie and Rocamadour - both old villages perched on sheer cliffs with many shops and restaurants. The 'pink city' of Toulouse is only an hour and a half away by car - perfect for a shopping trip or the opportunity to sit on a cafe terrace watching the world go by.
Activities which will appeal to all members of the family include dinosaur parks, parachuting, grottoes, kayaking on the Lot river, colourful local markets (Cahors on Saturdays and Wednesdays, Montcuq on Sundays and Thursdays) and any number of vide greniers (the French equivalent of the car boot sale where you can pick up anything from an antique armoire to a hand-embroidered quilt to a decorated ashtray, all at bargain prices), horse-riding, golf, fishing, tennis and swimming at the nearby freshwater lake. The Lot river valley with its many vineyards nestling within its meanders would please even the most jaded tourist - take the time to tour a few chateaux and taste arguably the best red wine in the world. Oh, and don't forget the village fete - fantastic local food, entertainment for all the family.

PREISE UND ZEITEN

Fournou is available all year round and the price includes all bed linen, towels and tea towels (please bring your own pool towels please). We may make a small charge for electricity and fuel in the colder months of the year. We require a 300 Euros returnable security deposit to cover breakages. We ask that guests leave the property as they found it however, if you wish to enjoy your holiday right to the last minute, we offer a final clean at a price of 50 Euros.
