BESCHREIBUNG & EINTEILUNG

Les Carrières is an old stonecutter's yard that has been renovated into a holiday home.
It has a unique location across from the river 'the Charente' and is set in a beautiful hilly landscape of woods and meadows. The house is standing alone and has been built in the typical style of the region. There's a living room with beautiful fire place and fully fitted kitchen, downstairs also a bathroom with Provençale bath tub and toilet.
Upstairs are 4 bedrooms with sleeping capacity up to 9 people. You will find the second bathroom here, entirely new with shower, as well as a separate toilet.
The garden with adjoining woods is marvelous, all set at approx. 1,2 hectare. Outside is a terrace and the garden has a swimming pool of 6m diameter as well as a separate children's pool. In the garden also a swing and slide for the children.
The house has a TV with video and DVD player, several videos for children (Walt Disney cartoons). For the bike amateurs are 4 mountain bikes available as well. The house is very cool in summer, all windows are shuttered.

UMGEBUNG & AKTIVITÄTEN

The beautiful landscape with hills and woods is excellent for walking and cycling trips. Plenty of possibilities in the direct surroundings for trips and excursions.
Some examples: trip to Cognac with visit to Hennessy etc., visit to Limoges and china factories, boot trips at the river "the Charente", you can rent a boat in Chatain (approx. 5km), canoe-kayak in the neighborhood, water sports on the lakes of the Charente, visit to Oradour-sur-glane (city with history of war), plenty of trips to the Dordogne, La Corrèze (approx. 100 km), visit to the Charente Maritime (coastal region at approx.. 120 km), visit to L'ile d'oléron, Fort Boyard.
Art lovers will highly appreciate the several Romanesque churches and historical buildings (Angoulème, Carroux, Civray, Poitiers and many others); numerous castles (La Rochefoucauld).
Entertainment in Futuroscope, La Vallée des singes in Romagne, playing golf at Aubeterre, trip by vélo-rail - departure in Roumazières and Confolens; Adventure Parc in Massignac, fishing/angling possible as well.
